Hip To Gable

By far the most common type of loft conversion in Oxford. This is because of the type of property that is converted. Semi detached houses built in the late 1920’s to 30’s are the recipient of these type of conversions.

The rear dormer added can be flat roof or pitched roof. The hip can be in tile, brick or rendered.

They cost more than roof-light and rear dormer loft conversions. They produce big loft rooms in Oxford, typically a room 5 metres by 6 metres and a shower room 2m x 1.5m. Two bedroom are possible too with a shared shower room.

These semis detached house are ripe for loft conversions, very little or no room is lost from the existing house when adding the stairs.

These types of lofts cost from around £30,000 to £50,000 depending in the size and specification of the works required.
